Digital Action

Charlotte has transformed our comms since starting with us a few months ago, when she joined the organisation as a long term consultant. She very quickly got a handle on both our needs, our voice, and our much neglected channels, upgrading them so that they serve our work. She is a joy to work with; creative, supportive, patient and efficient – overseeing everything from a total website re-development, to copywriting. I would highly recommend working with Charlotte to anyone!

Liz Carolan, founder of digital action
Digital Action is a small but mighty global campaigning organisation, protecting democracy and human rights from digital threats. I worked closely with the founder and senior leadership team in 2023 to showcase the fantastic work they’ve done since they started in 2019.

A website full of hope for Big Tech changes
Working with graphic designer Brent Gorsky and web agency, we created a website that introduces their very talented international team; the worldwide coalitions and campaigns they’ve coordinated; and a few tools and a directory of other organisations in the movement. It’s playful which makes it engaging. It’s accessible which makes you want to read more. And the low-carbon design approach means the code is simpler, takes up less energy and even the hosting is powered by renewables!

A monthly digest of tech accountability news
I revived Digital Action’s newsletter, curating a monthly digest of tech accountability news and updates about the organisation and their latest campaign.

Showing our impact to funders and partners
I worked closely with the senior leadership team to write up impact reports for funders and partners. This included copywriting, editing and working with a graphic design to produce professional reports that show the credibility of the small organisation.

Social media and thought-leadership blogging
I gave some social media coaching to members of the team and also supported them to write weeknotes which we shared on LinkedIn as thought-leadership posts. I managed their Twitter account, regularly posting about events the team was speaking at, the latest petition or issue they were backing, and showcasing campaigns and articles their partners across the globe.
