World Cities Culture Forum - Leadership Exchange Programme

World Cities culture forum

Set up in 2012, World Cities Culture Forum is a global network of over 40 creative cities that place culture at the heart of city planning and investment. It recently became an independent charity and needed support to find its tone of voice, put crisis comms processes in place and make its communications more engaging.

Developing a brand tone of voice, narrative and social media templates

The organisation needed to find its own voice after a decade of operating as part of the London Mayor’s office. I led a workshop to help the team explore their brand tone of voice. I produced a tone of voice guide, brand narrative and social media templates to help the team communicate more consistently and represent World Cities Culture Forum with more authority.

Exploring and creating a crisis comms process

I helped the team explore the risks attached to their role as a international diplomacy charity. I then set out a risk and mitigation matrix, and a crisis comms process with proactive lines to take.

Producing their Leadership Exchange Programme impact report

Using insight from cultural leaders that had taken part in the Leadership Exchange Programme, I wrote the copy to tell the impact story of this six-year long city exchange between cultural leaders. I also devised a social media campaign to feature mayors and city leaders from their network, to speak about the benefits of culture in cities, and the network.

Creating social media posts, newsletters and blog writing

I helped the team revamp their online content to make it more engaging. This included creating and scheduling eye-catching social media posts in the run-up to World Cities Culture Summit, their annual conference. I also wrote blogs to promote their latest cultural research. And I created a newsletter template and content to increase their audience engagement.
